Storm damage and fallen trees in Boise
After wind, heavy snow or ice, a fallen or split tree can block a driveway or rest on a roof. This is urgent, careful work: the tree may be under tension and can shift as it's cut.

Boise gets hot, dry summers and cold winters with plenty of nights that freeze and thaw again by afternoon.
Trees in the strip between the sidewalk and the street are often public trees in Boise and are looked after by Boise Community Forestry. Check with them before removing or heavily pruning one.
Branches near power lines should only be handled by a qualified crew or the power company, never a homeowner.
Common questions
Is it covered by insurance?
Often, if it damaged a structure. Take photos before anything is moved and check your policy.
Can I cut it up myself?
Not if it's on a structure, near a power line or under tension. Those cause serious injuries.
Is stump grinding included in removal?
Not always. Ask whether the quote includes grinding and hauling away the wood.
